Drunk Driving Awareness at Kunhadi’s “Taxi Night” 20th Edition

Drunk Driving Awareness at Kunhadi’s “Taxi  Night” 20th Edition

Beirut, Lebanon, the 28th of April 2018

In order to spread a new culture among the young generation against drinking and driving, Kunhadi has created "Taxi Night" Event whereby guests are prohibited from driving their own cars and instead are offered a two-way taxi to and from the event, as well as two drinks, open soft drinks, and water.

In addition to mandatory complimentary taxi rides, what characterizes this party is the limited number of free drinks every guest receives, only two drinks, to discourage excessive drinking; moreover, guests receive open water and soft drinks in order to raise awareness on the importance of remaining hydrated while partying.

Kunhadi’s Taxi Night 20th edition was held at BO18 on the 28th  of April, where RODGE delivered an exclusive set that raised the roof for road safety awareness after he had been announced as Kunhadi’s “Road Safety Advocate” and a member of the Board of Trustees.

Owing to his wide social circle, experience, and involvement in the open source community, we believe he will be an invaluable asset to our organization, and a supporter of our mission, dedication and integrity.

“Taxi Night” was sponsored by Master, Uber, Zaatar W Zeit, Picon, Sannine, and is in collaboration with Mix FM.

For wider awareness coverage and wider exposure, all media and television stations were invited to cover the event.

A number of public figures joined Taxi Night to set a good example of partying and taxiing to the Lebanese community:

Miss Lebanon 2018: Perla Helou

Talk show host: Rima Karaki

Actors: Karla Botrous and Nicolas Mezher

Sports champion: Silvio Chiha

Singer: Rabih Gemayel

All public figures took a taxi and joined their voice with Kunhadi in raising awareness on drunk driving.

Proceeds collected from Taxi Night will fund the installation of safe crossings in front of Lebanese schools to keep students safe while crossing the road.
