Seatbelts and safer kids on Allianz agenda
FIA Foundation -
Global insurer Allianz has enlisted F1 stars and teammates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg to raise the profile of important road safety messages.
On the eve of the football World Cup Final Nico Rosberg urges his German compatriots to victory on the pitch while encouraging children to stay safe, and drivers to stay alert for kids playing football, in a short road safety video. And fresh from his triumph in the British Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton highlights the vital role seat belts play in keeping car occupants – and racing drivers – safe from injury.
The public information videos form part of Allianz’s strategy to promote road safety as a core objective and message of the company. As a Global Supporter of the Decade of Action for Road Safety since 2011, Allianz has provided funding to NGOs around the world, via the Road Safety Fund, to support capacity building, advocacy campaigns and pilot projects to build awareness and support for road traffic injury prevention. Initiatives supported have included workshops on crash investigation for police and on urban design for engineers in India; first aid training for first responders to road crashes in Uganda; safe schools initiatives in Costa Rica and Tanzania; and support for more than 50 NGOs around the world taking part in the ‘Long Short Walk’ advocacy campaign for pedestrian rights during the 2013 UN Global Road Safety Week. Allianz has also highlighted its support for the Decade of Action in a number of advertisements around the world focussed on important road safety messages.
