Taxi Night 13th Edition
Seeing drunk driving is the second leading cause of fatal car crashes in Lebanon, especially among young drivers, in 2007 Kunhadi created a new concept for a party to raise awareness against the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and encourage youngsters to use Taxi cars whenever they’re going out at night.
Entitled ‘Taxi Night’, this event takes place at a Night Club every year. Guests arrive to the venue to party then leave back home safely with a Taxi offered by Kunhadi for free, as no cars are allowed.
The 13th edition of Taxi Night took place at SKYBAR Beirut on August 11, 2014, sponsored by Zaatar w Zeit and Diageo.
Young guests arrived in Kunhadi Taxis as well as many parents who joined in to encourage the younger generation to become safer road users.
As every year, a number of public and political figures joined Kunhadi in setting a role model for young Lebanese to adopt a new culture of safe road user.
Guests included Minister of Tourism Michel Pharaon, previous Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ziad Baroud, artists Zein El Omar, Aline Lahhoud, Anthony Touma, Xris Jorr talk show hosts Tony Baroud, Joe Maalouf, Wisam Breidi, among others.
Young drivers ought to realize their energy and enthusiasm should not be paid for with their safety.
Roads will stop posing a threat to our lives if we all join hands in raising awareness and adopting a responsible behavior on the road.
