Seeing that Drunk Driving is the second cause
of fatal car crashes in Lebanon, Kunhadi aims at changing this tragic
fact through spreading a new culture of safe driving that relies on
awareness and responsibility.
Within this context, Kunhadi
association organized a number of special events for the youth entitled
Taxi Night, whereby guests arrive to the party venue and leave back home
safely using Taxi cars offered by Kunhadi for free. The purpose behind
these events is to encourage the use of Taxis after a night out to avoid
driving under the influence of alcohol or fatigue.
The
twelfth and latest edition of Taxi Night took place on May 16, 2014 at
BO18 in collaboration with Radio Mix FM and sponsorship by local
restaurant franchise Zaatar W Zeit.
Among Taxi Night 12 guests
were celebrity May Hariri and a number of public figures and parents
whose presence made a positive impact on the youth by setting a high
model focusing on safe and responsible behavior.
We urge the youth to realize that their energy and enthusiasm should not be at the expense of their safety. It is a shared public responsibility to help them being aware and find the balance between their eagerness for life and their regard for their safety and the safety of others.
