Crossing the Road Safely
Pedestrians have the right to cross the road safely all the while respecting the safety of drivers:
Drivers:
- Slow down when you’re in the proximity of a pedestrian crossing
- Stop your car BEFORE the traffic light and the zebra lines
- Keep the traffic lights in your field of view and respect it
- Allow pedestrians to cross the road in a straight line on the safe crossing
Pedestrians:
- Only cross the road on the safe crossing’s white lines when the pedestrian light is green
- Do not make any sudden moves; let drivers know where and when to expect pedestrians crossing the road
- Stay visible by wearing the fluorescent jacket at all times
- Use the pedestrian bridge to cross a highway
The road is made for everyone, so share it!
