Gas consumption and CO2 emission
Four simple actions help you save on gas, reduce CO2 emission and stay safe:
Lower speed = lower gas consumption:
Driving between 50 to 90 km/hr. is the optimum speed for maximizing fuel efficiency with the least carbon dioxide emission. Exceeding this speed range requires higher gas consumption, which in turn, causes more pollution.?
Avoid quick acceleration because they consume double the amount of gas required for a regular acceleration, hence, they release double the amount of CO2.
Keep a safety distance between you and the car ahead of you to be able to maintain a steady speed. Driving at a steady speed can save enough gas to travel 3 additional kilometers per gas gallon. In other terms, you can travel a longer distance for less gas and air pollution
Keep your tire pressure in check as the incorrect pressure results in too much or insufficient friction with the road, consequently, higher gas consumption thus higher CO2 emission.
