‘Nap & Go’ Goes Up The Mountain
Sponsored by Picon, ‘Nap & Go’ initiative was launched in February 2017 to offer a practical and accessible solution to fatigue driving in Lebanon.
Though the majority of drivers have a story or two about that other day when they briefly fell asleep behind the wheel, the public remains largely unaware of the dangers of driving in the state of drowsiness or fatigue.
In Lebanon, fatigue driving is one of the leading causes of fatal traffic crashes! Numerous international studies found that the dangers of fatigue-driving are equivalent to the dangers of drunk-driving.
To shed light on this matter, Picon partnered with Kunhadi to install ten special spots at a leading gas station in Lebanon, Medco, where drivers could pull over and take a short nap safe from the hazards of fatigue driving or robbery.
At the time of the launch last February, five ‘Nap & Go’ spots were installed and ready along the Lebanese coast in:
- Damour
- Jiye
- Dora
- Byblos
- Monsef
Five new ‘Nap & Go’ spots are added, covering the mountain in:
- Taanayel
- Aley
- Qornet Chehwan
- Fiyadiyeh
- Reyfoun
